by Egbilika Josiah

The appreciation:

Hello, On behalf of Building Blocks for Peace Foundation, I appreciate the individuals and organizations represented during the just concluded focus group discussion. The session was highly impactful and allowed us to gather necessary qualitative data on Youth, Peace, and Security National Action Plan in Nigeria. The baseline study is instrumental in helping us to conduct the necessary review to further adequate implementation of the UNSCR 2250 which supports the inclusion of your in violent conflict prevention and peacebuilding in the Nigerian communities. Thank you. Amos Oluwatoye Peace Researcher

The Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development participated in the focus group discussion to seek to gather data on Youth, Peace, and Security National Action Plan in Nigeria. Nigeria signed the national plan in 2021 and since then little or nothing has been done. The aim of the National plan is to foster Youth participation towards Peace building and security, thus, reducing the increment in conflict situation in Nigeria.

#cehrd‘s representative, Egbilika Josiah, remarked that although Youths are veritable tools to peace building, there is need to examine structures of peace building already in existence. He further suggested that more researches need to be done to evaluate the content of the National Plan and also there is need to have an all inclusive participation in peace building in Nigeria.

The focus group discussion was organized by Building Blocks for Peace Foundation
