The Launch of the Women in Governance Network (WIGN) in Rivers State on 15th August 2019 by Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development (CEHRD) was a success. The torch has been lit and given to them to go into their communities and mobilise and mentor other women. Over 200 WIGN members drawn from d 3 Senatorial Districts in Rivers State took oath of membership.
The oath of membership was administered to the women by Hon Christiana Tamunobereton-Ari, Vice chairperson, Ogu/Bolo LGA, Rivers State. WIGN members will mobilise and mentor other women. Present during the Launch were the Vice chairpersons of the 23 Local Government Areas in Rivers State. This is with support from the Embassy of the Kingdom of the Netherlands, Abuja.
