Review of the Violence Against Persons(Prohibition) VAPP Law for domestication in Rivers State

CEHRD convened a round table discussion and review of the Violence Against Persons(Prohibition)VAPP Law for domestication in Rivers State.The output of this review will be a memorandum to be presented during the forthcoming public hearing on the passage of the VAPP ACT in Rivers State.

In attendance are representations from Arise for Gender and Livelihoods Initiative (Alive), African Women Lawyers Association of Nigeria,(AWLAN) Rivers State Chapter, International Federation of Women Lawyers (FIDA) Rivers State Chapter, Hon Samuel Ogeh, member representing Emouha LGA at the Rivers State House of Assembly, and representation from the Ministry of Justice, Rivers State.
