CEHRD Conducts Site assessment and Baseline study in Rumourlumeni community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State, Nigeria

In continuation of the UNDP-GEF small grant program activity implementation, The Centre for Environment, Human rights and Development (CEHRD) on September 15th 2025 carried out a baseline / site assessment at the proposed planting site with the community leadership of Rumourlumeni community in Obio-Akpor Local Government Area, Rivers State, Nigeria.

The site assessment which was led by CEHRD team led Dr Tammy Cookey, the community leadership structure led by Mr Chinda Felix and the project consultant Dr V.Gbosidom was to develop a benchmark for monitoring and evaluation during the Accelerating Community led mangrove Restoration project which is ongoing.

During the site assessment/ baseline survey, a benchmark for monitoring and evaluation was developed and adopted by all.

The project is funded by GEF Small Grants Programme, United Nations Development Programme – UNDP
