Bodo City Girls Secondary School Gets Waste Bins

CEHRD donated waste bins to Bodo City Girls Secondary School environment club. This was part of her activities to commemorate 2018 World Environment Day.

In 2017, CEHRD, through its CORDAID project team, established the Bodo City Girls Secondary School Environment Club in Gokana LGA, and Community Secondary School, Biara environment club in Gokana LGA, Rivers States. The clubs were established as part of the CORDAID project objectives, to serve as a uniting point for the students to drive initiatives around the good of the environment and also the club as a platform for engagement with relevant stakeholders in the State and beyond.

Last year, a member of the club won the 1st prize in an essay competition for Environment Clubs in Government Secondary Schools, Rivers State. The competition was organized by the Centre for Conflict and Gender Studies, University of Port Harcourt and sponsored by NACGOOND.
