
As part of its project on Reducing Incidences and Re-occurrences of Oil Re-Pollution in the Niger Delta within 12 months sponsored by True Cost Initiative, CEHRD on the 25th and 27th February, 2025 began stakeholder mapping in Rivers and Bayelsa States to re-orient ex-artisanal refiners, youths, and women involved in crude oil marketing towards sustainable practices and reduce re-pollution in the Niger Delta.

The mapping activity aims to identify selected stakeholders such as ex-artisanal refiners, youths, and women involved in crude oil marketing, community members to buy into the project to achieve sustainable practices and reduce re-pollution in the Niger Delta.

With the project, CEHRD seeks to
- Enhance environmental education among Ex-artisanal refiners, Youths, Women crude Oil marketers, Community Opinion leaders about the impact of Oil re-pollution in Niger Delta within 12 months.
- Strengthen Collaboration between communities and relevant stakeholders to address the issue of incidences and re-occurrences of Oil re-pollution by 30%
- Promote synergy and knowledge sharing among targeted communities in Niger Delta. 2.0
