CEHRD calls for the speedy domestication of the VAPP Act in Rivers State

CEHRD Governance and Human Rights team engaged on a Radio discussion on Today’s 95.1 FM, Rivers State, where they called for the speedy domestication of the VAPP Act by the Rivers State House of Assembly and the Rivers State Government and how such will go a long way to address gender-based violence in Rivers State. Violence, both at the home front and the larger society is fast becoming a trend in the recent day, Nigeria. The Violence Against persons (prohibition)Act (VAPP) was passed into law in May 2015. The Act was a result of agitations for the protection of persons against the different forms of violence.
