The Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development (CEHRD) has organized a practical session for the planting and nursing of propagules in Kono community, Khana Local Government Area, Rivers State.
The practical session gave community members first hand demonstration platform, enhance their knowledge in planting and nursing Mangrove seedlings. Earlier, CEHRD had established Community Mangrove Restoration Vanguard in Kono community, carried out a training session on potting and nursing of propagules.

The practical session enabled the Vanguard to practicalize knowledge gain during the training, understand better the different types of propagules and how they are being nursed; gain robust understanding on the effects of the various water sources to be used during the nursing process.
The Kono Community Mangrove Restoration Vanguard, planted 1500 propagules in the Mangrove Nursery Site established by CEHRD with CEHRD’s team, Meshack Uyi, Baridapsi Nyiaghan and Josiah Egbilika supervising the entire process.

The Vanguard expressed joy and committed to improve on knowledge gained by planting more propagules, thereby increasing the number of propagules to be nursed in the Mangrove Nursery Site.
The practical session was attended by members of the Kono Community Mangrove Restoration Vanguards, Secretary to the Kono Community Development Committee and Chief Security Officer, Kono Community.
