The Centre for Environment Human Rights and Development CEHRD on Tuesday, the 26 day of July created and inaugurated a Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response Network in Tai Local Government Area. Members of the Network is made up of the Nigerian police, Tai Divisional Headquarters, Tai Health Personnel, Religious and Traditional Leaders, Representatives from the Gio and Botem communities made up of Men, Women and Youths; Civil society Organizations (#CSOs), Teachers and Students.
It will be recalled that #cehrd has earlier trained these stakeholders on the Provision of the Rivers State Violence Against Persons (Prohibitions) Law – #riversstatevapplaw. The Members of the Network were drawn from the pull #cehrd trained. The main aim of the Network is to galvanize collaboration and synergy amongst stakeholders in the fight against #GBV in #riversstate for quick response to #gbv cases in #Tai #LGA.
