The Centre for Environment Human Rights and Development CEHRD on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 created and inaugurated a Gender Based Violence Prevention and Response Network in Eleme Local Government Area. Members of the Network is made up of the Nigerian police, Eleme Area Command, Ogale Divisional Headquarters, Eleme #LGA Health workers, Religious and Traditional Leaders, Representatives from the Alesa and Okpa communities (Men, Women and Youths), Civil society Organizations (#CSOs), Teachers and Students.
It will be recalled that #cehrd had earlier trained these stakeholders on the Provision of the Rivers State Violence Against Persons (Prohibitions) Law – #riversstatevapplaw. The Members of the Network were drawn from the pull #cehrd trained. The main aim of the Network is to galvanize collaboration and synergy amongst stakeholders in the fight against #GBV in #riversstate for quick response to #gbv cases in #Eleme #LGA.
