Centre for Environment Human Rights and Development CEHRD with other key stakeholders have been monitoring the over 810,000 seedlings planted in its Phase 1 mangrove restoration project of Hydrocarbon Pollution Remediation Project (HYPREP).
The importance of this project cannot be overemphasized as it is beneficial to the livelihood of the Ogoni people. The project has trained over 90 Ogoni women and youths in mangrove nursery and planting; and beneficiaries are now referred to as mangrove vanguards.
CEHRD as has been in forefront of advocacy towards restoring the mangrove and biodiversity in Niger Delta. Healthy mangrove and biodiversity restores better livelihood for the people.
