CEHRD ORGANIZES TRAINING OF RIVERS STATE VAPP LAW ENFORCEMENT INSTITUTIONS IN PORT HARCOURT LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA, RIVERS STATE, NIGERIA

The Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development (#CEHRD) continued her training of Rivers State Violence Against Persons (Prohibitions) [#VAPP] Law Enforcement Institutions April 8, 2022 in Port Harcourt Local Government Area.

The training had in attendance the Permanent Secretary of Rivers State Ministry of Women Affairs – RSMWA, Federation of Female Lawyers (#FIDA) ably represented by the Vice Chairperson, Lawyers representing Rivers State Ministry of Justice, Rivers State Ministry of Social Welfare and Rehabilitation, Men of the Nigeria Police Force, Health workers, Traditional and Religious Leaders, Vigilante groups represented by the chairman of the Anti-Cultism affiliation amongst others.

The participants who were trained by Barrister Obiageli Oraka-Oifoghe on their roles on the Provisions of the #riversstatevapplaw were delighted to have been part of the training and appreciated #cehrd for organizing such a training in a time as this.

The fight against #GBV is not a fight for a person but all. There is therefore need for collaboration to providing justice for victims and survivors of Gender Based Violence (#GBV).

#CEHRD is glad to know that her project on “Enhancing Prevention and Response to Gender Based Violence in Rivers State” is affecting lives positively.
