CEHRD Participated in the 2019 City Nature Challenge Activities

Indigenes of Oporo-Ama community in Asari-Toru LGA and students of the University of Port Harcourt (Uniport), Rivers State participated in the City Nature Challenge 2019. At the end of the City Nature Challenge activities, where citizens participate globally in biodiversity and specie documentation; participants in Port Harcourt were able to increase it’s total number of observations on iNaturalist by 923%. Also, in Port Harcourt, the number of observers increased by 216%. Though being the first time of CEHRD participation in the global event, we shall work harder to push back the frontiers of our biodiversity documentation via citizen science in the near future. This event was organized by the Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development (CEHRD).
