CEHRD TRAINS POLICE COMPREHENSIVE SECONDARY SCHOOL, PORT HARCOURT ON RIVERS STATE VAPP LAW

– by Egbilika Josiah

Police Comprehensive Secondary School in Port Harcourt Local Government Area was the last school in the six schools mapped by Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development (#cehrd) to be trained on the Provisions of the Rivers State Violence Against Persons (Prohibitions) [VAPP] Law in Rivers State.

The students acquired knowledge on various violence and crimes such as rape, harmful traditional practices, offensive conducts, stalking, incest, intimidation, spousal battering, attack with harmful substance, economic violence, accessory after the fact, and more.

Receiving #cehrd and her team in her office, the commander-in-charge appreciated #cehrd for training the students on the #riversstatevapplaw, acknowledging the importance of the training to the students and environs. Expressing her joy, the elegant commander committed to writing to police headquarters in Abuja for permission to cite a club on #riversstatevapplaw in the school. An expression #cehrd welcomes with joy.

#cehrd is glad to know that her project, “Enhancing Prevention and Response to Gender Based Violence in Rivers State” is affecting lives positively. #cehrd appreciates #EuropeanUnion for the support.
