Gender Based Civic and Voter Education  

CEHRD trained 40 women each across the 3-senatorial district in Rivers and Bayelsa States on civic and voter’s responsibility. The trainings in Rivers State were held in Tai for Rivers South East, Olakwo Etche for Rivers West and Ahoada Town for Rivers East. In Bayelsa State, the trainings were held in Sagbama for Bayelsa West, Swali in Bayelsa Central and Oruma in Bayelsa East.  

At the end of the training, majority of the women across the senatorial districts and States resolved to not only come out and vote but also participate actively in the political processes of their States at all levels. The participants resolved to collaborate with political parties and relevant stakeholders via Women in Governance Network (WIGN), a platform which will be formed by CEHRD across the senatorial districts and states soon.
