Rivers State Legislators

The Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development, (CEHRD) organised a one day Capacity Building Workshop for Rivers State Legislators on Biodiversity and Climate Change Legislations organized in Port Harcourt. Present at the workshop was the Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly, (RVHA) Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani, who gave his remark. Also present was Hon. Dumle Maol, Chairman, RVHA Committee on Environment and other honorable members of the RVHA. The welcome statement was delivered by Prof. Nenibarini Zabbey, Coordinator, CEHRD. Prof. Ebere Erondu, University of Port Harcourt made the first presentation on: Developing Sustainable Legislation for Biodiversity Conservation. While, Dr. Kabari Sam, Head, Environment and Conservation, CEHRD, made the second presentation on: Developing Climate Resilient Legislations in Rivers State. This was funded by the Government of Netherlands.
